We packed a lot into one day today! Today all the museums and attractions at White River State Park downtown were free with a canned good donation to Gleaners food bank- to celebrate Martin Luther King day.
We got downtown early and met our friends, at the State Museum. The kiddos worked at a table with colouring and poetry activities about Martin Luther King while we listened to drumming and poetry on a nearby stage they had set up. We got in to a showing at the IMAX theatre..... a 3D presentation called
Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon. This was the first 3D IMAX I or the kiddos had ever seen. It was way too much fun, I can't even describe it! I got a kick out of watching L waving his hands in front of his face, trying to touch the things that he thought he saw right in front of him!
We also wandered around the Museum for a bit, looked at some Indiana history, then all went back to Susans for lunch. After fueling up, we left the little guys with Susan while everyone else went to the Ellenberger Ice Rink to skate. It was so much fun!! I have such an appreciation of Jamie's kiddos and the way they approached skating for the first time, it was pure joy to watch them throw themselves into it- literally- but not stop smiling the whole time, no matter how many times they landed on the ice butt first! K is getting better and better at skating. She even tried skating backward today!
Oh, and we got to see the Zamboni in action! The ice was sooo smooth afterward, I have never skated on such fresh ice like that!
What a full and fun day. : )
