K and F at the Swedish booth
Originally uploaded by annamaren. It's hard to describe our adventures at the International Festival today. I take K every year, we've been going on the weekend of the event. This year I thought it would be fun to go on a weekday when they are only open for school events. I thought it would be less crowded, and K would be able to spend more time with the people at their booths, asking questions etc etc...
However today made the weekend look tame. It was crazy today. More than just crazy- it was likely not legal to smoosh that many people in the Exposition Hall at one time. Walking through the crowds of school kids was nearly impossible. Talking to anyone was crazy, we had to yell at each other at times, because the crowd noise was so intense.
It was a relief to sit down in some chairs and watch the action on the main stage- not just because the dancers were so beautiful, but because it was a relief from crowd surfing.
When I got home I felt like I had been at a concert- my ears were ringing, my voice was a little hoarse and I had a headache.
One part of me is glad that Indiana students are so interested in the International Festival that it would be that popular, but the other part of me is vowing to never go on a school day again.
Phew!
