L sick, and Rob away.....
It's been a long week, with L being sick and Rob being away with work. L has this bug that has been making the rounds with our friends. Ugh.

This week was the first of the WellSpring Spanish classes. Thanks to Tia Rachael, we'll be having weekly Spanish classes for a while. It will be nice to do this together with friends, my Spanish is so limited, and it's the natural second language here in the States it seems.

Today we had a fun excursion with our WellSpring friends to the Ellenberger Ice Rink. We had an "Olympic Ice Event"! We got to see the difference between a hockey skate, a speed skate, and an ice dancing skate. We got to shoot the hockey puck on the ice too, which L enjoyed deeply. : ) He and K did really well on the ice today, they have both been enjoying the times that we've been skating this winter. K skates independently, and L just needs to hold a grown up hand. Unfortunatly no photos, I had my hands full!

Symphony petting zoo

L - tuba boy!

At L's preschool on Monday we hosted a petting zoo from the Indianapolis Symphony's education outreach program. It was wonderful! They had musical instruments of all kinds.... The idea was that the kids get to play all the instruments they want to! Here is L playing the baritone tuba. He got a fantastic sound out of it!

Tiring end to a joyful week!
Well, I don't have any photos of the last day of camp because I was too busy at the cutest times- like when we were making the necklaces with the beads everyone had bought to share...... and too tired at the pool, which is where we finished our week!

What a fun week we had, everything the kiddos did seemed to be a blast for them. As parents, we crafted learning and meaning into a wholistic experience all week long, and it was met with delight from our children. Just the simple idea of being together every day for a week was a learning foundation for most of them. Mostly WellSpring gathers together for one day events, this is the first week long program that we have had.

My heart is simply full, and I feel the joy of being blessed in my homeschooling journey, and affirmed by God that this is how our children are meant to be learning. The other families who put their heart into WellSpring winter camp, well, I am just lucky to count them as friends sharing the homeschooling journey.
