Chihuly Glass Art!!!!!
Originally uploaded by annamaren. We got a sneak peek on the way out of the Children's Museum today! This is the incredible Dale Chihuly piece that will be the centerpiece of the Children's Museum. It has been behind giant curtains since it was finished, but today on the way out we were allowed a little peek!
It's all handblown glass, and so gorgeous.
We are looking forward to a WellSpring trip to a glass factory in Kokomo IN to learn more about glass and this sculpture.
K next to her skeleton!
Originally uploaded by annamaren. We are learning about "What's Inside my Body?", starting with the skeletal system. We made these fashionable wearable skeletons from black garbage bags and masking tape.
K labeled all her bones the correct names, after we taped them down, then we cut a hole for her head and she and L ran around in their skeletons for a while!
Finally, oh, finally we have caught up with book club! The girl tribe was wild to see each other again, and the ensuing mayhem was quite a noisy gaggle. K's book choice was the first of the Magic Tree House book series - Dinosaurs before Dark! We made our own sweet little books about Indiana, the way the heroes of the story have their book about Pennsylvania which takes them back home after each adventure.
Now if a Magic Tree House ever pops into the yard of one of the girls, we will be fully prepared!
View from K's seat at the Butler symphony
Originally uploaded by annamaren.K and I were so excited to go see the Butler Symphony Orchestra play on Friday morning, because K's violin teacher is first chair!
However some serious germs got in the way of my going. Rob stepped in, and escorted his mini-sweetie to the performance. This was the only photo she was able to take - a K's eye view of the Orchestra!
