Today on the way to K's violin lesson, we happened to notice a piano on the side of the road..... We were running a tight schedule and didn't have much time to stop, but I told the kidlets that we would check into it, if it was still there on the way home.
Sure enough, there it was... so with the help of some friends who will soon be our neighbours, we bought it home! Muchos Gracias to our future neighbours, we couldn't have pulled that off without you!
After playing around a little with it, we discovered that it has a good sound, and is a solid instrument. It needs a little love, (like three new hammer returns and a few new key veneers), but it's a fine beginner's piano.
What a fun find! I can't wait to get it cleaned up and tuned!

We welcomed a new friend to the world today- J and F's new baby sister! We had a fun day with a house full of friendship and waiting for Susan to birth that new baby! I was glad to have company for a good chunk of the day...

When we heard the news we toasted with ice-cream and happy-birthday candles!

Our neighbours had an Easter Egg Hunt at their backyard on Palm Sunday afternoon. It was lovely!
The feeling of community is so strong in Irvington. I love it, and am glad that we are homeschooling here. Although we will miss the Inman's, the Cahills move is sure exciting! And the Price family- I am hoping their house works out!

K wanted a photo of the worm she dug up. The gardening weather has begun, we have seedings started, and Rob tilled the sod for the veggie patch this afternoon.
We are learning about seeds next week.
