My Grandma Noack (my dad's mum) passed away on Friday morning Australian time.
When I heard the news, I had to go and find this photo, it's a particular photo that I love. Grandma looks so, well, Granma-y in this photo. With the grandchild (Carl) on her hip, the big black purse..... She was so loved. She baked, cooked, gardened- when she visited our house as we were growing up, she would always bake for us.
In her most recent years, I am not sure she really knew who she was when I visited. But I am glad that both K and L met her and visited with her. That's something to ground the stories that I can tell of her!
I am feeling a kind of shade of blue, since I can't be there with my family at this time. The family is gathering and it's so familiar, the gatherings at my aunt's and uncles, everything that will be happening, and I can't be there for it all.
It helps that mum and dad will be here visiting soon. We are so looking forward to their time spend with us in July!
