The red plane- a Piper I think?
Originally uploaded by annamaren.K has been at nature camp mornings this week.
So today L and I shared a learning adventure together- we went to the local regional airport.
I had called ahead at Indy Aero to see if we could have a hands on visit, and Anthony- the guy I talked to was so sweet with L. We could tell he was having a busy morning, but he took time out to show us through the corporate hanger, where there were many fun planes! We talked about the planes, and he even let L sit in one, and pretend to fly it for a bit!
We watched the planes take off and land, L was completely enraptured!
Anthony invited L back any time, he made him feel so welcome...... it was so much fun for my little guy.
L and K keep a close watch on the caterpillars!
Originally uploaded by annamaren. We are raising 2 Monarch caterpillars at the moment. We will do a little unit study on their life cycle. K remembers this from the last time we did it, I think that was 2 summers ago.
I hope we have grown enough milkweed to keep them supplied! We may yet again find ourselves on a giant milkweed hunt to keep these guys alive......
After the drenching rain! New clothes!
Originally uploaded by annamaren. To help celebrate our friend Fs birthday, we went to Chicago again on the Megabus. All day it was very hot, until a storm broke late in the afternoon, just as we had to make it to Union Station, to take the bus home.
We were drenched!
Lucky the kiddos all thought that running in the rain was pretty funny! They all kept good humour about finding themselves running 2 miles in a drenching downpour!
We made it, and I dashed across the road to the nearest CVS where I bought us all T-shirts and paper towels. We dried off, and changed into our oversized by dry clothes as the bus pulled up!
Our adventures in Chicago are always fun and interesting, running in the rain certainly iced the cake for this trip!
