Ashre
Originally uploaded by annamaren.Ashre sang out today at the Munce Art Fair. Despite the dismal weather which forced us into the shelter of a party tent, we had a lot of fun singing together for an audience.
It's hard to describe how much fun I am having drumming and singing and making music as an adult.
K practices Tinkle
Originally uploaded by justynrebecca.K taught B a little violin this week. I wish I could have recorded K and B together, that lesson was the sweetest thing you could imagine.
We spent this week in a flurry of fall.
As we are approaching autumn, the weather cooled down and got a little blustery. We drank tea, and lit the first fire in the fireplace on Tuesday.
We celebrated ourselves and our place within our family this week, as Rob and I approach our 11th anniversary this Saturday.
It was a community filled week, as every day was filled with friends in one way or another. I love the joy of our community, and the ways we rely on each other. They make this homeschooling experience a very whole experience.
My highlights of the week were..... K teaching B her very first violin lesson, and doing a beautiful job.... poor W tumbling into the Irvington fountain under my watchful eye!... L being so proud of riding his bike to preschool... the Ashre mama's getting ready for another performance, and the kiddos playing underfoot while we sang and drummed... watching sweet baby M- her first time away from mama- while Susan was in the classroom... how K and F mothered M!...eating caramel apples from A's trip to the orchard... Rachael teaching the girls Chinese Jump-rope and Brazilian hopscotch- games from her own childhood... and so much more.
The dancers we came to see.
Originally uploaded by annamaren.I took K and F to the Indy Irish festival on Sunday after church. We went to see the Irish dancers, but then we got sucked into the whole "Fest" part of it. There was such a lot of fest to see! (kids area with games and crafts, bouncy castle things, lots of Irish food and markets and plenty of music.....)
On the drive down-town I pretended we were in a plane and we were going to another country to see the Irish dancing.
Anna: " So which country are we flying to, to go see the Irish Dancers perform?"
Pause
K: "Sweden?"
So you can see we may need to polish our geography a little. : )
We did learn all about Ireland while we were visiting. Also there were quite a few Scotts hanging on around the fringe. K had never seen so many boys in skirts.
The dancers were great though.... I think it may have inspired F to want those Irish dance lessons even more.....
H, K and A...

I couldn't agree more!
How blessed I am to have such wonderful homeschooling friends.... how we can share adventures together and know that we are not walking this path alone. At this stage of the game I can hardly imagine homeschooling without my dear WellSpring friends.
I am so blessed, and I really do know it.
