Jenny began a new adventure for the WellSpring families this fall!
She sold us on the idea of being able to have a standing Friday night date with our soul-mates, with the simple requisite being that once every so often you and your soul-mate would invite all the kiddos over and let them run crazy-wild in your house.
Friday night was our host, and I had the brilliant idea of home-made hot chocolate by the fire..... doesn't that sound nice? Weeeellll......It took about half and hour of romping stomping madness before the sugar wore off.
Despite their total craziness, I simply adore the fact that their wildness was all silly group play- circle games and chase, and group mimicry games and such. It's all very entertaining- kind of like a circus of insane pixies. (No offense meant to any pixies or their parents. This is simple on-the-ground commentary!)

Just wanted to show Gran and Pa the crowd that was curious about Skype on Friday night. So sweet!

Oh, how much I love this photo! When the kiddos were not really interested in helping much with the WellSpring altar for the Day of the Dead, the mamas stepped in and had a lot of fun! The kiddos made some excellent skulls calaveras for the altar, but the multi coloured background was totally left to us!
Long story, but WellSpring totally stepped up to the plate to make an altar for the Irvington Guild of Artists, as our local Hispanic artist pulled out earlier this week. I love my community! I think some of the other board members may bring a home made altar too, but I love that our co-op can be involved in this way. I will post photos of the finished product!

It was so tempting to change the colour of the roof, just because I could! But no, we went with pretty much exactly the same roof style and colour- matching the bricks.
L and K have enjoyed the entertainment of re-roofing from the day the truck unloaded a dumpster right behind the back deck! It's all so exciting in their world!

K's confidence in the kitchen is taking off lately, as she finds herself better able to read recipe language and do recipe math. Also she has a better understanding of the recipes themselves and connecting the process to the outcome.
It's all a lot of fun to watch and help along. I see her making this whole pie herself in just a few more apple seasons to come. She did most of it herself today, I just hovered and advised. And it was delicious!
I love this photo, because she is concentrating on eyeing up how much cinnamon to put on the apples. I gave her a chance to not measure, but rather to judge how much was needed by look and taste- she did great, it was tasty!

I just have to post this, because the WellSpring co-op Spanish class has a mascot. (The pinata bull, not G!) GB named it Don Juan, and he comes to every lesson.
The fact that Justyn took this in Black and White betrays how completely crazy Don Juan el Torro is. If I were to have Spanish nightmares, Don Juan el Torro would haunt them!!
