Camp ended on Friday evening. The WellSpring kiddos put on a talent show for the families after dinner. It was hilarious! Talents included things like made up songs, bike-riding-without-training-wheels-display, musical instruments, dancing, and synchronized floor sliding.
K actually plucked up her courage and performed a duet with me! She was so nervous she cried thinking about it, but when it came down to the wire she wanted to be brave, so she ended up being the last act in the show. And she was great!
Camp was great all week- kind of chaotic, but great. Today has been a lovely recovery day. I honestly can't quite remember how we put together a whole week of camp last winter. We had huges days every single day for a week!!! This week was only Monday Wednesday Friday and Friday evening, but it still felt like a huge deal.
The best thing though, was that K had such a terrific time all week. Fall camp was all about the kiddos, and they seemed to have a good time!
Storytime
Originally uploaded by annamaren. Notice how effectively we roped all the campers into siting down to listen to the story! LOL! Actually, as it turns out, homeschoolers have a hard time forming a circle, or lining up in a straight line. So today to try and help the story circle, I made a helpful guideline with our jump rope. You can see just how effective *that* was! : P It's a clustery kind of story circle!

K jumps
Originally uploaded by justynrebecca.Camp again today!
The weather was not in tune with our desire for a nature walk. It was gray- cold and raining. So we played some indoor games today- like jumprope!
Here is K jumping rope. All the WellSpring kiddos are getting better and better at jump rope. They are all so sweet and earnest!
This is another of Justyn's photos. All mine turned out blurry. The light is not quite right, and the campers move too fast!

Parachute
Originally uploaded by justynrebecca. There was, um, a lot of energy to run out on the morning of the first day of WellSpring Fall Camp! A parachute helped. I think.
Everything is wrong here nad I love it

This was us today at the first day of WellSpring Fall Camp! Things have been busy leading into camp, but today was so much fun! It was chaotic and busy and crazy- can you believe we have 31 campers? Yowzers!
WellSpring, our beloved homeschool co-op has 31 small people to keep occupied, and so sometimes, despite all the parental supervision, things just get loud and feel overwhelming when we do activities all together.
However as I see everyone, I am really glad that we make these efforts, that in all the chaos there is this sense of community for all our kiddos. They feel like they belong somewhere, not only in their own home school environment, but they are a part of a community of learners. And they each have a pool of adult mentors, of friends of all ages- this whole big joyous, chaotic group of fellow homeschoolers.
I love that they all have a sense that although they may not be at school, they are definatly not alone in their learning.
K's oragami
Originally uploaded by annamaren.A hosted book club this week and the girls made these oragami cranes. I have to admit that I thought oragami was the one craft that I couldn't do. I had tried to follow instructions to make these cranes before- but just couldn't. So when K followed Jamie in making one on Friday- and hers were this good looking, I had to give it a try too. And it worked!
Bonus- when I gave it another try today- a whole day later, I found I could still remember how to fold it correctly!
K leads me to discover all kinds of cool things. I love that about our homeschooling!
