Today brings the shortest day of the year and the official beginning of winter. Once again I breathe a huge sigh of relief, as although I enjoy cool weather and cosy evenings in their place, I do feel much better knowing that today was as short as a day could be here. Now we will begin that earthly tilt toward longer days.... waking up to sunshine, having daylight when daddy get's home, playing outside a leeetle longer..... all of that. Ahhh.
L has been so cooped up lately. I think he really needs some running around time that he just isn't getting during these colder days. His behaviour has been alternating between Adorable and Ninja. It seems like there is very little middle ground between those two personalities either.
K had book club today, we also worked on sewing for her friends, and planned more baking for tommorow. Mmmmm.
I miss my family at this time of the year, and hope that one Christmas in the near future we can plan a big shindig! We nearly pulled it off last year, with all the kids together! We just missed Mum and Dad!
We wish you all a Blessed Christmas and Joyful New Year.

Over the last few days we have had all kinds of fun going on. Christmas baking, and secret present wrapping, lots of Christmas music playing and fires in the fireplace.
We went to the Children's Museum again, and timed our visit to be able to ride the Yule Slide without the wait of a long line. : ) Always fun! We checked out Jolly Days again.
We celebrated Hanukkah with our
WellSpring buddies! We gathered together for large amounts of fried food and fun one evening this week and it was much enjoyed by all.
The kiddos have helped with baking and consuming a good deal of holiday cooking. Gingerbread, sugar cookies...
mmmmm.
Thank-you Martha Stewart Holiday Cookie book from 2005.
K is once again collecting all the loose change in the house for the Make a Wish Foundation. She intercepted some solicitation from the mail pile and got caught up in the emotional language of the donation request. I admire her heart. And I figure we can do some donation math.
Oh, and the pink eye left us a mere day after it came, thanks to the anti-biotics that K has to continue to take for a few more days.
Cheers!
Yikes, we discovered K had pink eye (conjunctivitis) on Friday. I made a Dr's apt for the first time slot available! It was a very mild case, and the drops helped within the day. By the evening of the next day she appeared symptom free, but she will keep taking the drops for a week.
Everything is a learning experience though, as we discovered. Conjunctivitis is a very hard spelling word!
