K enjoys some snow indoors.....

K pours water into the snow to melt holes
Originally uploaded by annamaren.

I bought some snow inside on Friday, I shovelled 8 loads upstairs to the bathtub to play with!
I am trying to think of ways to make all this snow fun for L. He enjoyed the indoor snow for a little while, then K had fun for hours, she thought of all kinds of things to do with snow inside!
We tried some experiments, and did some measuring and counting. She played and made snow-castles and snow-caves. She had a blast!
This is a definate do again activity. Next time we might try to dye some and mix colours or something like that.

J, F and K at E'berger.

More sledding today!
The sun shone, so we went sledding with friends. K actually went again with other friends after Spanish today, so she was out twice today! I am happy for her that she is loving it so much.......E'berger park was quiet this morning. We had the hills to ourselves as public school was back today, after 2 days off and and a two hour delay this morning.
It was so peaceful and sweet to be out enjoying some sunshine on a chilly day.
After such a mild winter so far, all this snow in under two weeks seems almost surreal!

Another snow day.....

K sleds down the stairs at the side of the house!

Another Tuesday, another snow day!
We had another large snow storm blow into Indiana, and once again Brownies was cancelled, no garbage was picked up and we were glad we had groceries and stacks of library books in the house!
We all stayed warm and safe and dry until we ventured out in the afternoon... for K to play!
Today was a hot chocolatey kind of day, it kept up with the snow and sleet for most of the day and there is more coming tonight.
Now I am off to be brave and send Charlotte off into that cold dark night....

Charlotte dies......
I am getting my courage up to read tonight's chapter of Charlotte's Web to my big hearted daughter. I love this book, but Charlotte's death always is a sad and touching moment. I am not sure what K's reaction will be.

I think a nice cup of tea might be in order.

(I've read her other sad books before, we've been throught Matthew's death in Anne of Green Gables twice together now. Also Little Women. I shed tears every time. Tea helps.)
