Brandi, K and Jenise!

Brandi, K and Jenise!
Originally uploaded by annamaren.

Rob's family came in to town for a visit, it was a very speedy visit, but we crammed a lot into the short time we had!
We went to a lunchtime concert at the Indianapolis Symphony (where we saw Mike Strauss again, and K was able to ask about the clip-clop noises in "Hoe Down" from Rodeo by Aaron Copeland. Like I said- I am so awed at the power of creating musical community... K was curious, and she knew someone she could ask, so at the end of the performance- she did!)
Anyway... also for Hot Chocolate on the circle, a wander around downtown, the Indianapolis Art Museum, the Zoo, Deb got to see some bee-keeping stuff, lots of games, some of Rob's pizza, more games. It was no wonder we were tired when they all left!
I am tired just remembering it all!
It is always so much fun though. Brandi and Jenise have been visiting us since Brandi was K's age. When we moved to Indy and they had turned into teens, it was fun for them to come and spend weeks at a time with us during the summer! Now they are older, and summer jobs are getting in the way of that kind of looong schedule, but I am so glad they still make a point of coming out even for a quick visit.

This photo is from last week, however, you can see the lush little children's garden's poking around behind the adorable children in the photo! Those gardens are doing so well!
Every week K has come home with some super-cool things from the Jnr Master Gardening class that she is taking. Every week I feel totally impressed with the stories that K tells me about the super-fun things they are doing. Today she came home with landscaping plans for the whole back space where the kid's garden's are. They are moving things around to better use the whole space, and the kids are learning about landscaping to be able to help out the move!
Oh, and what's more- they want bees! K is pretty excited about this. I will have to chat a little more, but I would be so excited to lend a hand in that department!
