K and her old friend
Originally uploaded by justynrebecca.K moved up a violin size, from an 1/8th to a 1/4. She has grown a lot over the summer. She was sad to see that old violin go back to the shop.... so we asked our dear friend Justyn to take some shots of K with the 1/8th violin. You can see more by clicking on the photo itself.
Here is L's bedtime story. I am trying to tell it as it was told to me by him.
Once there was a seal.
Once there was a ROBOT seal.
And the robot seal's name was Aquaduct.
Aquaduct lived at the North Pole.
He lived in his forest at the North Pole.
He had five friends, and five brothers and sisters.
Their names were Juan, Twosta, Trista, Foursta, Fivesta and Kiester.
Their favorite game to play with Aquaduct the Robot Seal was tag.
They played it all day and all night.
The end.
Peter and the Wolf
Originally uploaded by annamaren.Kind of a blurry photo, but this was us with some WellSpring friends at a performance of Peter and the Wolf, given by the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. It was so wonderful! The Narrator was a local storyteller, and he was so funny, just perfect!
Since we attended the performance late last week, there has been a lot of Peter and the Wolf in the house. The kiddos play the CD we have, and act out the story, which is about the funniest thing in the world to me!
Project Wet
Originally uploaded by annamaren. Both my friend AnnaB and myself have been taking advantage of the DNR's workshops on outdoor education. Anna did Project Wet and Project Wild, and I did Project Learning Tree.
This photo is from a great afternoon that WellSpring, our homeschooling co-op had by a creek at the local State Park. The activity Anna chose was from Project Wet, and it was so much fun! The kids loved it, and it was engaging for all the age levels we had.
I would totally recommend the DNR workshops for homeschooling families! So much resource material! So much fun!
