Kindling

Here is the fuel kindling our current learning!Just a bit of what we are up to...

A theme... We always have a theme providing an undercurrent to all the learning that happens around here. We change it up about once a month.

Math U See is our Math program that K and L are working through. We also use other Math resources, right now we are discovering Abacus Math.

Music K is learning the violin, L hasn't started yet, but likely will when he turns 6. K was ready at an earlier age!

Spanish K and L are both learning Spanish through our WellSpring home-schooling co-op class. Thanks Tia Raquel! I am still learning Spanish alongside my own kiddos.

Reading K is reading chapter books, L is on the cusp of reading....he knows and recognizes many words, but still very much prefers to be read to, than read independently. We enjoy weekly library time. K is a part of a Book Club reading "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott right now, which is so sweet! Thanks Justyn!

Girl Scouts K is Girl Scout with a troop, with a troop that has home schoolers and public schoolers.

Writers Group K is part of a WellSpring writing group, L is part of the Jnr Writers. Thanks Jenny!

Story of the World K is sharing some history with WellSpring, with a Story of the World group that is starting up. Thanks Jamie and Beth!

Ballet K takes classical ballet classes. L was taking break dancing classes, not right now though.

Jnr Master Gardeners K has been doing Jnr Master Gardeners classes for the last two summers. I think this summer L might be old enough to join in too!

Tennis K is enjoying tennis, although we haven't kept up with it over the winter. She began classes last summer, and wants to do it again this summer! L likes it too, although he was too young for the classes

Gymnastics Free Play OK, this isn't a class, but it's a super-fun open-gym session that a local Gymnastics Club is offering local homeschoolers. K and L have both enjoyed running and bouncing like maniacs with their friends for a few hours during the winter weather.
